Google Ads management
Search ads that show when people are looking for exactly what you do, in the towns you serve.
Search ads put you at the top of Google the day they go live, for people who are looking for your service right now. Done badly, they burn money on searches like "DIY," "jobs" and "free." Done well, they're one of the most predictable ways to get calls.
I built and launched the Google search campaigns for the real estate brokerage where I lead marketing, including the tracking, keyword lists and weekly cleanup.
Who it's for
Businesses that want more calls quickly, have a service with clear search demand, and can handle the extra work. Ads are a poor fit if your Google profile and reviews aren't in shape yet, so I'll usually suggest fixing those first.
Setup ($499)
- An ads account in your name, connected to tracking so every call and form is counted.
- Campaigns organized by service, with keywords people really search.
- A starting list of negative keywords to keep out job seekers, DIYers and bargain hunters.
- Ads written for each service, with call buttons and location details.
- Targeting set to the towns you serve and the hours you answer the phone.
- A recommended starting budget, based on what clicks cost for your trade and towns.
Every month ($199)
- Weekly review of the searches that triggered your ads, with wasteful ones blocked.
- Bid, budget and ad adjustments.
- Your cost per call and cost per lead in your monthly report.
- Help with Google's Local Services Ads too, if your trade qualifies.
Bundles
Included in the Everything bundle. Buy two or more services together and save 5% to 20%. See pricing.
What I need from you
A card on file with Google for the ad spend, a clear idea of which jobs you want more of, and someone to answer the phone.
The honest part
Ad spend is paid to Google directly, and I don't take a percentage of it. If ads aren't paying off after a fair test, I'll tell you to stop.
Questions
How much should I spend on ads?
It depends on your trade and town. Clicks for emergency plumbing cost more than for lawn care. After setup research, I'll give you a starting number. You can change it any time.
Do you mark up the ad spend?
No. You pay Google directly, and my fee is the flat $199 a month.
Who owns the ads account?
You do. If you leave, the account, its history and the campaigns stay with you.
